Laura Rogers
Greetings Parents, Guardians and Students:
I am thrilled to be working with you this year! It is my mission to provide and encourage learning opportunities for students by fostering meaningful, inquisitive, thoughtful habits of character and mind. It is my hope that students will demonstrate leadership, self-reliance, involvement, and interest in their community and the world. To this end, we will incorporate strategies to increase mindfulness practice, leadership and organizational skills and BVMS Core Values into our weekly routine. Throughout the school year, I will be in constant collaboration with you, your child and your child’s core teachers. Please feel free to set times to meet or talk on the phone to discuss your child’s progress or any observations that you may have to share. Frequent and consistent collaboration and open dialogue enable all of us to be more successful.
Here is a bit about me: I am a graduate of El Rodeo and Beverly Hills High School. Prior to working at BVMS, I was at The Linden Center, a non-public school in Los Angeles, for over twelve years. I received my undergraduate degree in Art History and English from Skidmore College in New York and a Master’s Degree in Education from Antioch University. I then continued my studies at UCLA. I am passionate about family, food, art, education, and preserving and enjoying our earth's natural resources.
I am looking forward to an exciting and successful year together!
