hello everyone I missed your lascaux one of the art teachers here Beverly Vista Middle School talk to you about some of the classes you can sign up for intake with me here we go everyone so these are the elective offerings we have a visual art and photography here Beverly Beverly Vista Middle School we have animation beginning photography beginning art digital art Ceramics advanced how many sixth graders are eligible to take animation beginning photography and beginning art these are semester-long classes for you are welcome to mix and match and takes a beginning Photography in this fall and beginning are in the spring animation in the fall and beginning Photography in the spring 7th and 8th graders are offered in addition to those three classes did your Ceramics Advanced Photography in advance there are prerequisites you would have already had was taken the beginning about to get on a little bit of everything in the art realm drawing painting for making sculpture a little bit of everything so I'm going to show you a few those projects that you might be working on over the course of this semester project with the the color wheel and mixing just the three primary colors yellow red and blue to mix all 12 colors of the color wheel students choose a symbolic image something that represents who they are we do a little bit of pop art so another painting Royal style in that realm of pop art realm and that style John CCR known as ben-day dots became famous by comic book style and Roy Lichtenstein the artist that do be learning about we do some observational can art drawing so looking for life and I'm drawing realistically what is in front of you show me about the curvature how to blend in overlap colors and how to make it look realistic in three-dimensional with shadows we do sculpture so there's an artist named Klaus old is Monumental pop culture project in the class the students choosing everyday objects cardboard paper mache and paint we do Native American basket Riso this yarn technique that we wrap around this rope and recoil it and it's a wrap 6 and up twice and then you can corporate various pattern by using different colors of yarn to use to do a laid we do some work charity and social commentary with the learning tots artist Sue Johnston worst thing for students to choose a style brand logo design make a parody of it or comment about it what time does a poke fun at other artists and pass famous artworks mixed media jungle so with watercolor color pencil pen and ink so overlap learn about each of those techniques cubism style and it like a broken mirror effect stained glass another thing we do some linoleum block printing so carving out making like a giant stamp with a gouge that we carve away or reveals an image imprinted with various methods and techniques are there is a midterm or final where students get to choose their own style techno choose their own medium their own paper canvas I'm execute their artwork the way they see that they want to do it we can do this many of these projects as possible over the course of the semester sometimes wear able to get to all of them most of them and that's
