hello everyone I missed your lascaux one of the art teachers here Beverly Vista Middle School to talk to you about some of the classes you can sign up for intake with me here we go welcome to Ceramics everyone so these are just a few of the elective offerings we have at Beverly Vista Middle School specifically these are the ones that we offer in the visual art photography realm we have animation beginning photography beginning art Ceramics these are all semester long classes to get for instance take animation the fall beginning Photography in the Spring Virginia or in the fall or mix mix and match animation begin photography and incoming 6th graders or 7th and 8th graders only can you will notice that there are some free requisite some little stars next to some of the titles Advanced photo in order to get into advanced photo you would have already taken beginning photos and to get into this class ceramic you would have had to take him to get a new addition to this I'm going to show you some of the projects for can be working on over the course of the semester we try and get you as many of these as possible but we work on the time constraints of the I wish I was a pinch pot starting with a ball of place to press and rotate to form even walls with their finger and thumb and then they do a lid handle and feet and then glaze it with decorative design we do a coil vessel so learning how to make a bowl or Bass using a coiling technique and then once again glaze It is Well ceramic animal so these are some past animals and it does have to be an animal per se could be like a creature person cartoon character shrimp food so choosing a life-sized realistic food to replicate desert once again all student examples and they've done in the past incorporating some of the techniques that they've John Pryor in the semester as well friends themed mugs mugs we do use are functional day exactly as his safe we can wash other than dishwashing them but these are absolutely functional to use and you can drink liquid apart items to an everyday object or item I'm sometimes enlarged white if it's quite a small object shows my size for Eric shoes so I choose in I shooed to replicate out of clay ceramic lanterns box with images cut into the outside as well as a lead coaster box and coasters to make a box to hold coasters decorating them quite nice and she agreed vessel so it should learn about ancient Greek culture and doing patterns and designs and repetitious designs going all the way around animal containers to learn about that technique elaborated upon you from the prior project cuz they've done in class she's in stick designs into make it into an animal are as well so it is not mostly handled in class but we do have a potter's wheel in class as well as soon as they're able to use a Potter's field to sculpt and mold and create something and throw a pot on the pottery wheel there's a final in the class the final is choice-based so they choose whatever subject medium they want to do for this and execute it and these are just some of the projects that the students will be working on over the course of the 30 questions feel free to reach out to me and I hope you enjoyed the presentation
